CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CHALLENGE

This construction project's intended use demanded that the building be aesthetically pleasing, as well as functional with the 55+ year-old end-user in mind. To achieve the right look, a vaulted ceiling was chosen as a building design element. This created a space problem for mechanical system placement. However, we coordinated with all trade vendors to creatively reposition mechanicals and HVAC systems under the slab and in the high ceiling. We chose floor finishes specifically to minimize trip hazards while maintaining durability. Additionally, facilities preventative maintenance, including lighting, was needed that could accommodate various activities while considering older adult vision issues.

EMCOR CONSTRUCTION MANGEMENT SOLUTIONS

Viox provided construction services as the Construction Manager on this 17,300-square-foot community center for older adults. The unique community-based wellness center serves as a public meeting place for older adults to socialize, exercise and learn.
